Frequently Asked Questions
When will submissions open?
Submissions will be open from February 10th through May 12th.
Do you accept submissions from sketch/improv/musical acts?
At present time, our event is a stand-up comedy showcase. While we may incorporate sketch/improv, etc. in the future, we are currently only seeking submissions from stand up comedy performers.
When will tickets go on sale?
Generally, we will make tickets available at some point in late June/early July, after we have had time to select and invite our performers for the year.
Can I bring my child to the show?
As a general rule, all of our shows are 18+, except at Highland Brewing which is 21+. Can you notify me by email when submissions are open/tickets are on sale/etc?
All of our communication is done through our website and our social media pages. At present time, we do not maintain a mailing list that we can add you to.

Where does the talent submission money go?
We're SO glad you asked! Unlike many festivals, the submission money goes directly back into the talent that submitted. We use the money collected to bring out professionals from the entertainment industry for all showcases, to personally interact with you, offer industry related panels, open discussion forums, career tool assets like headshots etc. and much more. ACF is more of a convention to give you tools to build up your career so you can succeed. We NEVER use submission money to book headlining acts. Any and all headlining acts, if any, are secured as separate business.
If I submitted and didn't make the cut this year may I still attend and be part of the activities?
YES!!! Absolutely. Come be part of the event and hang out and be part of everything we can offer! Give us a heads up that you're coming and we will coordinate necessary info for you.
What makes ACF different from all the other festivals?
Longevity. You don't survive in this business as long as we have if you aren't good at what you do and stand by what you can help offer comedians. Frankly speaking...We're a difficult festival to be accepted to. It's because we spare no expense on the shows and there's no lack of effort in making sure the showcases are one of the most amazing experiences of your career as it blossoms. We make sure the invited industry guests are able to see EVERY performer in optimal circumstances. We never overlap main showcase shows making the industry have to choose who they can see. We take what you do seriously and produce shows to prove it. We set you up for success!
