Taking Your Funny Behind The Camera

KP Anderson, an Emmy Award Winning writer and Showrunner ("The Soup with Joel McHale", "Pickled" with Stephen Colbert, "Norm MacDonald Has a Show" and many more), started his comedy career as a standup comic, rising from the Minneapolis open mic scene to appearing in New Faces a the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, before becoming a staff writer for Keenan Ivory Wayans and Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect", eventually working his way up to head writer and eventually showrunner.

In this two hour seminar, KP will share stories and practical advice on how to work your way into the writer's room, how to graduate into show management, what are the different career tracks (comedy variety, talk, scripted TV, movies) comedians have available to them as writers and producers in the entertainment industry and how and when each should be pursued.

He will also talk about the importance of representation and the best ways to forge a career in the incredibly complex and continually evolving entertainment marketplace. And tell some funny stories about the comedy legends with whom he's worked. If nothing else, The story of Norm MacDonald trolling his own Netflix HR Meeting will have you on the floor.  There will be frequent breaks for Q&A's to make this more of a discussion than a lecture.
